Bryce Courtenay has thrown his support behind The Elephant In The Room campaign and fronts a nationwide TV advertisement to raise awareness of the problem of chronic wounds.

The TV advert was launched on Monday 31st March as part of Wound Awareness Week 2008. The hard hitting advert explains the seriousness of the problem and how you can help by signing the online petition located on this website.

The Elephant In The Room Campaign:

The Australian Wound Management Association (AWMA) has been lobbying key policy makers and the general public for over a decade in a bid to bring attention to the seriousness of chronic wounds as a significant social problem which demands urgent attention.

Wound patients have continuously fallen through the cracks in terms of Government funding, forcing sufferers to pay themselves, making wound products unaffordable to the poorest members of the community and people with wounds incapable of receiving proper treatment.
