Re: Wound Management In Australia
We, the undersigned, petition the Federal Government of Australia to pay urgent attention to the problem of chronic wounds – an issue that currently affects over 270,000 older Australians.
- Wounds in Australia are rife. This social problem can be fixed and is avoidable.
- The current funding situation means that in many cases people go without health treatment because they cannot afford to pay for it.
- The instances of chronic wounds in the future can be significantly reduced. This will generate immediate savings in the health system.
- Despite its prevalence, this health issue has been virtually unacknowledged by Federal Government for decades.
- The Australian Wound Management Association is yet to be provided with a meaningful reason why this problem continues to go unaddressed by Federal Government.
